Authorities have arrested a White County woman on indictments charging her in a 2017 crash that killed her 3-year-old boy and unborn child.
25-year-old Tiffanie Chapman is charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, due care, driving on a suspended license, and no insurance.
The crash happened on the night of December 2 when Chapman was driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta on Smithville Highway near John Kirby Loop in White County.
A THP crash report said Chapman’s vehicle crossed the center line and entered the westbound lane before traveling down a steep embankment.
Chapman suffered injuries during the crash along with the 3-year-old, who later died at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Chapman was seven months pregnant at the time of the crash. The THP said the child was delivered at Vanderbilt Medical and pronounced dead on December 3.
The crash report said a child restraint device was not properly used on the 3-year-old.
