State lawmakers have approved a few changes to city elections in Red Boiling Springs.
City elections will now be heading back to city hall and non-resident property owners will now be allowed to vote in city elections.

“The way it was, it was outside the city limits and people that was living in the city limits would have to travel to certain districts,” Coe said. “Some of the older people like to vote in the city election and not in the regular county election.”
Previously, city elections took place in conjunction with the county election, but that caused confusion for some voters who did not know they had to vote for city offices at their county voting precincts.
