Chandler Joins Smithville Aldermen

Beth Chandler will serve the next two years as a member of the Smithville Board of Aldermen.

The board voted Monday night to approve Chandler’s appointment. She takes over the unexpired term of Gayla Hendrix. Hendrix stepped down in September after her appointment as Smithville Municipal Judge.

Chandler is a local business owner and has served with various local organizations and events including the Dekalb County Fair and the Fiddlers Jamboree. Mayor Josh Miler made the recommendation for Chandler’s appointment.
