The US Army Corp of Engineers began additional water release Sunday afternoon from Center Hill Dam.
The release making river conditions below the dam extremely dangerous. The Corp urging residents to stay away from the area, with boaters reminded to use extreme caution and wear life jackets.
The additional water meant to restore flood control capacity after last week’s heavy rain event. The water release set for 18,000 cubic-feet per second.
