Celina K-8 Seeing Progress With Construction Projects

Celina K-8 School making solid progress on its construction projects.

The project comes as part of the school system’s plans to do electrical and plumbing with federal ESSER funding. Principal David Maxfield said as the plumbing had not seen upgrades since the school was built in 1974, the project was long-needed.

“It’s not been bad and the teachers have done an awesome job in getting adjusted to and getting the kids adjusted to all the things going on,” Maxfield said. “Of course all the noise and all of the things you wouldn’t normally hear in a school setting. So I think it’s gone rather well.”

Maxfield said crews began in early December and have moved swiftly. He said current timelines still put the project completion estimate at sometime in May of this year.
