Celina Approved For T-DOT Grant

Celina has been awarded a Multimodal Access Grant by T-DOT.

UCDD Regional Planning Coordinator Mark Dudney said Celina Mayor Tonya Spears tipped the scale in favor of the grant going to Celina.

“Mayor Spears actually got out and walked the entire area and described the state of the sidewalks for me and it gave me some powerful anecdotal evidence for that application,” Dudney said.

Communities can use Multimodal Access Grants for improvements to sidewalks, bike lanes and other transportation infrastructure. Dudney said that he and Matthew Cushing, Active Transportation Analyst with T-DOT would be working to initiate this project.

T-DOT will announce the next round of Multimodal Access Grants in the next couple of weeks.
