Cassville Elementary Evacuated Today

Multiple White County fire units responded to a reported fire at Cassville Elementary School this afternoon.

Firefighters said students and faculty had already evacuated the building when they arrived on scene.

Officials said an accident down the road from the school caused an issue with Caney Fork’s supply of three-phase power to the school. Power was shut off to Cassville for a period of time.

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said no damage occurred. Many students did leave early but Dronebarger said the school is safe and will be open tomorrow.
