Cookeville’s Cane Creek Recreation Center to host a Workplace Readiness Workshop this Saturday.
Recreation Programmer Sally Herren said attendees will learn how to build their resumes, write cover letters, and prep for interviews.
“Some people don’t even know what a cover letter is, ” Herren said. “And I think this will really help with trying to find the job you’re looking for and also with the customer skills and the job search skills as well.”
Herren said the program is geared toward all levels of job experience. She said it does not matter if you are in high school preparing for your very first job, or if you have a long-standing career and looking to make a change.
Herren said this is the first time the rec center will host a class of this nature. She said that she believes there should be even more opportunities for classes like these in the area.
“We are trying to get as many people as possible to come into the class as possible to help them find a job,” Herren said. “Especially with all of these new businesses that are popping up here in the Cookeville area.”
Herren said attendees will need to bring a resume and a workup of a cover letter. The class runs from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Registration is $20.
