Cameras, Engineering Work Approved By Cookeville Council

The Cookeville City Council Thursday approved an adjustment to upgrades at the Little Creek Pump Station.

Water and Sewer Department Director Ronnie Kelly said re-designing some of the layout at the station would allow for easier access and would be cheaper. The council approved the engineering contract to redesign the lines, priced at $42,800.

The work began in 2018 to upgrade the station built in 1981.

The council also approved new cameras for the Water Plant intake. The department wants to upgrade cameras dating back to 2000.

“We’ve replaced plug and play some of the cameras at the intake, but we can’t get those now,” Kelly said. “And to replace that pod down there, we need to we want to keep it integrated with what we have at both places that work well.”
