Maverik Oils Coming to Crossville

Maverik Oils broke ground in the Crossville business park Thursday.

President Chase Newman-Brewer said the California-based food-grade oil company began looking for an expansion location about three to four years ago.

“We started looking at different states in the Southeast and Tennessee really stuck out as the place to do business,” Newman brewer said. “It’s the most friendly and has a lot of new development going on. That’s why we centered in on Tennessee.”

Brewer also said many of the company’s baking customers have facilities located across the state.

The new facility, part of a $500,000 investment in property, building, and employees. The company plans to construct a 15,000 square foot facility that will be both production and warehousing. Brewer said the company has plans to add another 20,000 square feet within the next two to three years.

The company hopes to employ between 15 and 20 people.
