Burgess Falls State Park Hosting Junior Ranger Day Camps

Burgess Falls State Park has announced the dates for its annual Junior Ranger Day Camps.

The Mini Ranger Camp will be the first camp to take place. It kicks off May 31st at 8:30 a.m. Park Ranger Bill Summers said the camps have been a huge hit for several years.

“They have been real successful and we are now in our 13th year,” Summers said. “We even one the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education and Outreach five years ago.”

The camps will cover a number of topics including skull identification, campfire cooking, and plant identification. Programs will also include various hikes, games, and activities.

Burgess Falls will host four other day camps throughout the months of May, June and July. They include the Junior Ranger Camp, Advanced Junior Ranger Special Topics Class and another Mini Ranger Camp.
