Bridgestone Investigating Possible Cyber Threat, Warren Plant Remains Closed

Bridgestone’s Warren County tire plant remains closed Monday afternoon after shutting down from a potential cyber attack Sunday.

According to the company, an investigation remains ongoing for a potential security incident involving its information technology. Workers were sent home Sunday and have not returned to the factory.

Plant closures in Rutherford and Wilson Counties have also been reported. Many other manufacturing and retreading facilities in Latin America and North America have also been disconnected from the network to prevent further impacts.

“We are continuing to make progress on the investigation towards determining the scope or nature of any potential incident, and we will continue to work diligently to address any potential issues that may affect our operations, our data, our teammates, and our customers,” Bridgestone said in a statement.
