The demolition process for the Bon De Croft Elementary School expansion is set to begin.
Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said two portable classrooms have been installed to replace the classroom space being removed. Dronebarger said students should move in next week.
“That will allow us to start doing some demolition on what we call the short building,” Dronebarger said. “The two classrooms that are outside the normal building at Bon De Croft. The demolition will start on that building and that would be the first in the process of getting the new addition added.”
Dronebarger said the project will go out to bid soon. Dronebarger said the 20,000 foot addition would connect the old building with the gymnasium and create a new entrance to the school.
The first renderings of the project were shared to the school board in January. Dronebarger said several construction meetings have occurred with Upland Design leading up to the bid out date.
