Crews recovered a body from Dale Hollow Lake Tuesday afternoon.
Clay County Emergency Management Agency Director Natalie Boone said the crews located the body during a training operation on Monday.
“They were able to go down with an ROV (remote operated vehicle) and verify that it was in fact a body,” Boone said. “It was a little bit challenging because this body was in 136-feet of water. We were able to get a plan together today and we were able to recover that body.”
Boone said the victim matches the description of a kayaker reported missing two years ago.
“As far as being able to make a positive identification, at this time we cannot,” Boone said. “The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for autopsy.”
Boone said the investigation remains ongoing.
