Bockman Way Upgrades Underway

Work has begun to upgrade Sparta’s Bockman Way.

Crews will be working from Churchill Drive to Mayberry Street.

The project has several parts, the first part will complete in late December, City Administrator Chris Dorsey said.

“It’s a $1 million, what’s called a multi-modal project from TDOT that deals with curbs, gutters, sidewalks and drainage,” Dorsey said.

While that work is going on, the city will replace a sewer line under the street, Dorsey said.

Next spring, TDOT will pave all of Bockman Way through Sparta, Dorsey said.
