Work on Sparta’s Bockman Way continues.
Crews began a project to construct sidewalks, catch basins, storm sewers and new sewer lines on Bockman Way back in July.
City Administrator Chris Dorsey said the city tacked sewage onto the project to preserve the new pavement.
“They camera-ed it and it did need some work on it that we’d just go ahead and replace all the sewer that’s under that respective project so we wouldn’t have to tear it up for awhile,” Dorsey said.
Dorsey said the project will be complete just after the new year. Then in the spring, TDOT will pave Bockman Way.
The construction zone runs from Churchill Drive to Mayberry Street. The multi-modal project will cost about $1 million.
