Blood Donations Up In Wake Of Tragedy

Volunteers are lining up to donate blood.

Blood Assurance Donor Coordinator Trudy Cody said more than 20 new donors went to the Cookeville center Wednesday.

Cody said donating blood is an easy and free way to help victims of tragedy, whether they’re rebuilding from hurricanes or recovering from tragedies like the Las Vegas shooting.

Donating blood also helps victims of trauma and disease here at home, Cody said.

The Blood Assurance donation center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The center is located on Broad Street in Cookeville.
