Blood Assurance will accept blood donations by appointment only effective Monday.
Blood Assurance Medical Director Dr. Elizabeth Culler said the move will ensure safety of patients and staff.
“(It) will make it much easier to limit the amount of people in a space and allow us to ensure we are doing our part to maintain social distancing,” Culler said.
Blood donations remain critical, however. Thousands of blood drive nationwide have been cancelled by COVID-19.
Culler said donors can use the Blood Assurance app to fill out important information prior to arriving on-site. The Cookeville center has employed additional sanitizing protocols because of COVID-19.
