Blood Assurance Seeking Donations Ahead of High Holiday Usage

Blood Assurance of Cookeville is asking for blood donations ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

A press release states blood usage increases across the country during holidays due to an increase in traffic accidents and trauma incidents.

According to the release, blood banks across the country have experienced lower donation numbers this summer. Blood Assurance provides blood to medical centers across the Upper Cumberland including Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

All donors who give blood  to Blood Assurance between Monday and Friday will receive a free beach towel or flip flops. All donors over 18 years of age will also be entered into a drawing to win tickets to Dollywood Splash Country in Pigeon Forge.

The Cookeville Blood Assurance will be open during regular hours on the Fourth of July.
