Bill Lee Wins Tennessee Governor’s Race

Businessman Bill Lee is projected as the next governor of Tennessee.

Lee, a self-proclaimed political outsider, defeated Democratic challenger and former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean with roughly two-thirds of the votes.

“Tennessee is a very good place to live. It’s a very good place to raise a family. It’s a very good place to work,” Lee says. “But as good as Tennessee is, we can be better.”

Lee defeated Diane Black and Randy Boyd during the Republican Primary Election in August en route to his governor seat. He will take over for the term-limited Republican Governor Bill Haslam.
