Baxter Working To Create New City Website

The process of paying bills and reporting issues or concerns may become easier for Baxter residents in the near future.

Alderman Dustin Stanton said the city has started working to create a new city website.

Stanton said the goal is for residents to pay bills, apply for permits, and report pot holes or water leaks through the website.

“We want the citizens of Baxter to be able to communicate with us if there is problems, other than the use of a telephone if they choose to,” Stanton said.

Stanton said the city has received one $3,500 bid from a company that would create the website.

“We feel like that’s a good price for what we are going to get,” Stanton said. “We are working fast at it so we can get this project completed.”

Stanton said ideas for the website are still being thought about and he encourages residents to let city officials know about any ideas they may have.

The current website is outdated and a change is badly needed, Stanton said.
