Baxter Police Chief Not Leaving For Algood Job

Rumors have swirled about Baxter Police Chief Danny Holmes applying for the Algood Police Chief position.

Chief Holmes said some Algood police officers did ask him to apply, but he never did and doesn’t plan on leaving the city of Baxter.

“I may have considered it at one time or looked at, but I am just treated so well here in the city of Baxter and I have a great mayor and a great aldermen,” Holmes said. “The citizens have treated me really well over my law enforcement career and I have no reason to leave at all.”

Holmes said he’s excited about being apart of Baxter’s ongoing growth and wants to continue leading the Baxter police force.
