Baxter Police Arrest Sparta Woman on Drug Charge

A Sparta woman will appear in court Sept. 10 after being arrested for drug possession at the Baxter Huddle House Sunday.

According to arrest warrants, 32-year-old Stacey Rinehart was arrested by Baxter Police during an investigation involving Rinehart’s husband who had an outstanding warrant.

The report states a search was conducted on Rinehart after the officer noticed an odor of marijuana. The search revealed Rinehart had not only marijuana, but several prescription pills, including Alprazolam (Xanax) and buprenorphine hydrochloride (opioid), neither of which she had prescriptions for.

Police also discovered a cell phone with text messages indicating possible drug transactions.

Rinehart was charged with possession of controlled substances and issued two citations for simple possession. Her bond was set at $15,000 with her court date set at the Putnam County Justice Center.
