A single family home in Baxter suffered significant fire damage Tuesday morning after an apparent stove fire.
Fire Chief Tom Brown said crews responded to Old Mill Road with heavy smoke coming from the home.
“We made entry and extinguished the fire in the kitchen,” Brown said. “We realized the fire expanded and had a well involved fire in the attic. Ultimately, ended up pulling most of the ceilings in the house to access the attic and extinguish the fire.”
Brown said fire crews believe the stove was left on while nobody was home which lead to the house fire. Brown said the department was on the scene for over two hours.
Brown said no one was injured.
