The town of Baxter has hired two new police officers.
Chief Danny Holmes said Tory Womack will serve as a part-time officer and Baxter Fire Chief Matt White will serve as a reserve officer.
“I’m so happy of our reserved program,” Holmes said. “There is just times when we need extra help at ballgames, parades, and the harvest festivals. We’ve got a great group of volunteers that are willing to help us.
Womack is a POST certified officer and recently spend time working for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Putnam County Fire Department.
Womack and White were sworn in during the city of Baxter’s September board of mayor and aldermen meeting.
