Baxter City Hall is closed until Monday due to a sewage backup.
Mayor John Martin said work began Thursday night to fix the backup that happened in one of the city hall bathrooms. Martin said the problem has been fixed.
He said that city hall will remain closed as the city looks to bring in a sanitation crew to clean. City Recorder Sharon Carlile said they expect to have city hall open by Monday.
Carlile said she will be at the Baxter Water Department if any resident needs to get in contact for city hall business. The number to reach the water department is (931) 858-4142.
