Bailey Named TDDA’s Legislator of the Year

The Tennessee Development District Association (TDDA) has named State Senator Paul Bailey its Legislator of the Year.

According to a press release, the award is given to on the basis of nominations from each of Tennessee’s nine development districts, including the UCDD.

UCDD Executive Director Mark Farley said in the release the award goes to state lawmakers who “put forth considerable effort on behalf of their cities and counties.”

The UCDD also named Bailey as its Legislator of the Year and nominated him for the statewide recognition.

“Senator Bailey understands the needs of our region and continues to advocate, sponsor, and support needed changes  in economic development to bring success to the people and businesses of the Upper Cumberland,” Farley said.

Bailey represents a large portion of the UCDD’s coverage area, including Cumberland, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, and White counties.
