The Putnam County Regional Planning Commission approved a preliminary plat for a 102-lot subdivision on Cumby Road.
The Autumn Woods Subdivision covers some 74 acres.
“This is great to see a big subdivision coming before us, been awhile since we’ve seen something like this,” Commission Member Mike Atwood said.
The developer must add a second turn-around on a 1600-foot long cul-de-sac that exceeds the maximum length allowed by the county. Regulations limit cul-de-sac length to 1200 feet.
The commission also asked for a clear analysis of water availability for the subdivision, especially as it relates to water hydrants.
“Can we not require that they also present some indication of whether there’s ample water supply out there before they come back to us again,” Commission Member Phil Wilbourn.
Lot acreage ranges from 0.48 acres to 2.3 acres.
The commission also approved a preliminary plat for nine lots in the Lee Subdivision on Cherry Creek Road. Window Cliff Village, a ten-acre subdivision at the corner of Baxter Road and Window Cliff Road received approval.
