Authorities on Tuesday identified the body of a man found along the Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail in Cumberland County.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reports 60-year-old Tommy Woods of Cookeville likely died of natural causes.
Hikers had found Woods’ body along the trail Saturday morning not far from Highway 68. Officials say Woods had likely been deceased for several days by the time his body was found.
The official announcement was delayed until next of kin were notified.
