The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office captured a wanted Crossville man for violating the sex offender registry.
The Sheriff’s Office said Thursday they received several calls regarding Davenport and his whereabouts that ultimately led to a quick arrest.
According to the arrest report, 56-year-old Jerry Lynn Davenport, was observed driving on Villageway by a deputy. The deputy then began following Davenport before engaging in a pursuit down Southway.
Davenport eventually brought the vehicle to a stop in the driveway of a home on the 90 block of Tennessee Stone Road, not far from his registered location. He is being held on $40,000 with a court date scheduled for Nov. 26.
Davenport was added to the state’s sex offender registry after being charged with sexual battery against a minor. The registry classifies Davenport as being “violent against children.”
