Fentress County Man Returns To Court For Murder

A Fentress County man will return to court Monday to face a first-degree murder charge. 38-year-old Wayne Ellis Kassow  stands accused of fatally stabbing Mark Jennings in April 2019. The Fentress County Sheriff’s office found Jennings’ body at a Casto Knepp Road residence in Jamestown. The TBI arrested Kassow after agents collected information connecting him to the crime. A lucky Powerball player in Smithville won $50,000 Saturday. Tennessee Lottery Officials said the unidentified person matched four of the five white numbers drawn plus the red Powerball. A Sevierville man faces charges after falling asleep and crashing his vehicle in Cumberland County Friday. The accident happened on Interstate 40 eastbound at mile marker 313. Crossville Man Killed In I 40 Crash

A Friday evening crash in Cumberland County claimed the life of a Crossville man. The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 78-year-old Jerry Scoggins.
