Popeyes Chicken Coming to Cookeville

Fast food chicken restaurant Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is coming to Cookeville in the near future. Cookeville Mayor Ricky Shelton announced Tuesday the restaurant will be located at South Jefferson Avenue in the old Krispy Kreme location next to Burger King. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has issued an Endangered Child Alert for a missing boy from Putnam County. The TBI reports 11-month-old Mason Nicholson was last seen at home in Cookeville with his non-custodial mother. The child is approximately 2-feet-tall, 26 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes. Putnam High Schools See Increased Attendance

Putnam County high schools have experienced a growth in attendance numbers from the previous academic year. According to Attendance Supervisor Chris Pierce, Cookeville High School has seen the largest increase over the summer, increasing its population by 7.5 percent and adding over 160 students. A tail light violation led to the arrest of a Bloomington Springs woman on a meth charge Tuesday. According to arrest warrants, 43-year-old Jennifer Lynn Cole was charged with intent to manufacture, deliver, sell, or possess meth. Her bond was set at $25,000 and is currently in prison.
