Council Approves Emergency Repairs To Electric Substation

Cookeville City Council approved emergency repairs to get the Cane Creek Electric Substation back online Thursday night. Electric Department Director Carl Haney said two transformers need repairs. 78 COVID patients being treated at Cookeville Regional Medical Center Wednesday. Three additional patients are awaiting COVID results and are in quarantine. Two Tractor Trailers Crash In 111 Incident Monday

A Rock Island man injured Monday morning in an accident along Highway 111 in Overton County. According to preliminary reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Tristan Carter was traveling north in a tractor trailer Monday morning. Cookeville Doctor Fined For Medicare/Tenncare Charges

Cookeville Doctor Mitchell Shea has been fined $100,000 for improperly billing Medicare and TennCare. Shea and Chiro2Med of Tennessee charged the government for electro-acupuncture using a device called a P-Stim. Neither Medicare or TennCare reimburse for these temporary devices. Putnam County Out Of Vaccine, Tuesday Appointments On Hold

The Putnam County Health Department awaits another shipment of vaccines Tuesday to continue its COVID vaccination. More than a thousand local residents were vaccinated Saturday and Monday before supplies ran out. Local K-12 teachers and seniors over 75 are currently eligible for vaccinations. Crossville set a new annual rainfall record in 2020 with more than 75 inches of rain falling during the course of the year.
