Fentress Man Sentenced 10 Years In Prison

A Fentress County man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after a hearing Thursday. Charles William Cavender in 2020 was convicted of the unlawful carrying of a firearm after being convicted of multiple felony crimes for violence and being under the influence. Van Buren Co. School System In Running For Energy Grant

The Van Buren School System has been named a finalist for a TVA School Uplift grant. The $400,000 grant is meant to improve energy costs through school improvements. Cookeville Council To Consider Amendment To DSUD Contract

Emergency Flood Relief Funds Available For UC Non-Profits

The Community Foundation has reopened its Tennessee Emergency Response Fund for donations in light of last weekend’s flooding event.
