Bluegrass music will return to historic Granville Saturday as a live audience can enjoy the Sutton Old Time Music Hour.
The interactive and live radio show has performed without an audience since March. Granville Museum President Randall Clemons said he is ready to see the community full of people on Saturday nights.
“We are very excited to be able to go back with this show,” Clemons said. “Like a lot of things in life, when you lose something you do not realize how much it means to you until you lose it.”
Clemons said the popular Kid’s Bluegrass portion of the show is also making a return. Each Saturday, a child gets the chance to perform live with the band. Clemons said participants will have an opportunity to compete in the Uncle Jimmy Thompson Bluegrass Festival on July 11th. The winner will perform at the Grand Ole Opry.
“We just have a lot of great things going,” Clemons said. “We are very excited. That music program has helped developed the talent of younger people. That is what the Sutton Old Time Music Hour is all about.”
The Sutton Old Time Music Hour first started in 2008. Each show includes a country style dinner before 7 o’clock and airs live commercials with a comedic twist. Each weekend, a new band is picked to perform.
“If you’re a couple or a group of people, it is good, clean family fun,” Clemons said. “The show is very entertaining and has some of the best music you will hear.”
Admission is $3 for the show only and $20 for dinner and show. Max capacity at the Sutton General Store is 50 people.
