Attempted Abduction In Crossville Thursday

Crossville Police have launched an investigation into an attempted abduction that occurred last night.

Officials said the incident took place just before midnight at the Ashton Place Apartments off of Myrtle Avenue.

A 20-year-old female victim told officers that she was checking her mail when a man approached her and forced her into a green work van occupied by another male subject.

Police said the female managed to fighter her way out of the van and landed on the side of the road near Spruce Loop.

A report said the unidentified men then fled the scene in the van.
