Art Round Tennessee Takes ART Prowl Online

Art Round Tennessee is taking it’s three day ART Prowl online this weekend, to help support shopping local and artists affected by the pandemic.

ART Prowl Executive Director Jennifer Luna said this has been a tough year on small businesses and artists dealing with chances to show their work continuing to be cancelled. Luna said effort went into trying to capture the same personal feeling art can create when it is actually seen in person.

“We’ve allowed the artists to write their bios, and just try and connect with people on a personal level,” Luna said. “Which I think then makes their artwork more attractive and more personal to you if you know a little bit more about how it was made and the person that made it.”

Luna said people can take a look at the local artists and their work on Art Round Tennessee’s website. Luna said she wants the virtual prowl to start at 8:00 AM on November 13 and will last until 6:00 PM on November 15.

“View videos of artists doing demonstrations of how they make their work, as well as their studio tours,” Luna. “There will also be a page for each of our participating artists that will lead them to their online shop for viewers to purchase their work.”

Luna said there’s even a way to make your own art, while also supporting Art Round Tennessee. There will be a coloring book for sale, featuring original drawings for kids and even adults.

“The ART Prowl coloring book which features drawings from 18 artists of the Upper Cumberland,” Luna said. “We are selling those as a fundraiser for our organization.”

There will be an auction on the Art Round Tennessee Facebook and bidding will take place in the comments. Art Round Tennessee is a non-profit, based in Cookeville.
