Armed Robbery Reported At Jere Whitson Park Today

An armed robbery is under investigation by the Cookeville Police Department.

Officials said it occurred around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday afternoon at Jere Whitson Park.

Two victims reported to police that three suspects approached them as they were sitting in a parked car. At least one of the suspects presented a handgun and demanded the victims’ property. Another suspect allegedly assaulted one of the victims.

Police said the suspects fled the scene in a maroon Mazda SUV with undisclosed items belonging to the victims.

All three suspects were described as being in their early 20’s.

The first suspect is described as a black female, heavy set, approximately 5’2” in height. Suspect number two is described as a black male, medium build, approximately 5’6” wearing a dark ball cap. The third suspect is described as a white male, medium build, approximately 5’4” tall with sandy blonde hair.
