American Made Music Fest Saw A Successful Second Year

Gainesboro’s second-ever American Made Music Fest deemed a success.

Chamber of Commerce Director Hope Vargas said despite the weather being a little chilly, everything went very smoothly. She said one of the biggest learning lessons after last year was the need for more volunteers.

“The community and even people from out of state who were just coming in for the actual festival, they volunteered their time as well before the festival even started,” Vargas said. “The volunteers went as smoothly as it possibly could have gone this year it was really great.”

Vargas said all the performers were fantastic and could not have gone better as far as the production side. Vargas said turnout was slightly lower than last year, with about 1,800 visitors each day.

“I think there is a lot that could possibly play into that, the economy in general, the unknown,” Vargas said. “I think the weather was a little bit cooler than what we would have liked but it was nice. It’s just part of having an outdoor event. But I think everyone who was there had nothing but great things to say about it.”

Vargas said as for next year, plans are still being discussed. She said they haven’t ruled it out entirely, but have not 100 percent said yes.

Vargas said they are in the middle of a lot of conversations with some key players, and trying to figure out logistics before moving forward.
