The city of Algood has named two candidates as finalist for the city’s police chief position.
They include Jon Frazier and Dale Armour. Algood Mayor Kirk Dyer said both men are not from the Upper Cumberland area, but have served in law enforcement in the Middle Tennessee area.
Dyer said the city council plans to make the police chief hire during the January 9th meeting.
“It’s been a long process not only for for the city, but the citizens as well,” Dyer said. “The folks that are in our department now have done an outstanding job filling in the gaps wherever possible. Now we are going to place that person in the police chief seat and take some of that workload off.”
The person selected will replace Gary Harris who was fired last year. Captain Bryant Swallows has served as interim police chief since Harris’s termination.
