Algood To Apply For Transportation Grant

Algood City Council members voted Tuesday to apply for the Community Transportation Grant Funds.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said if awarded the grant, the funds would be used for a corridor study of the main travel thoroughfares in Aglood.

“Especially the the Wal-Mart and 10th Street entrance in order to see what improvements would be needed,” Morrison said.

The study would also look at Mill Street, Dry Valley, the intersection at Main and 4th Avenue.

The maximum grant funding that could be awarded is $125,000 and the city would be required to match 10-percent.
