A proposed Algood subdivision has been tabled by the Algood Planning Commission until sink hole requirements are met for development.
Planning Director Tommy Lee said the city is waiting for guidelines from TDEC before moving forward with approval.
“It wasn’t constructed properly,” Lee said. “So, it is going to need to be reconstructed with the proper materials, and also in case anything ever happens with it going forward, Mr. (Gene) Allred is going to be responsible.”
Fire protection of the subdivision was also in question, but Lee said that was answered during Thursday’s Algood Planning Commission meeting. Lee said the developer plans to run a six inch waterline branching from the Deer Haven Subdivision and install a fire hydrant.
“However, the sinkhole maintenance still had not yet been resolved,” Lee said. “And so, the chairman of the planning commission and the majority of the planning commission decided to table.”
The eight acre, six lot property is located on Mirandy Road. The original request was made in September of last year. Lee said preliminary review should be granted to the Allred Division in March if TDEC responds.
“They’re still in talks with that,” Lee said. “So hopefully by next month we will have that.”
