The city of Algood released a press release Wednesday, responding to the resignation of Mayor Scott Bilbrey.
The release stated that the city is still seeking a court ruling on what can be done in the city’s current position. Bilbrey’s resignation leaves the city council with two members, which is not a quorum under the city charter.
The city’s hoping a chancery court ruling on Monday will allow the two city council members to vote on city matters during the November 14th Council meeting.
