The Algood Police Department is seeking a few more officers.
Interim police Chief Bryant Swallows said the department still needs to fill three more positions.
“Believe it or not, being down three can still be pretty taxing on our department,” Swallows said. “If may not sound like a lot of people, but when you start factoring in officers needing off for training, sick time, and vacation it really taxes our agency.”
The application period will be open until Friday, October 20th.
“We are looking for somebody that can think on their feet and who is honest and cares about the public,” Swallows said. “Those are people that are compassionate and understanding of others.”
Meantime the application period for the Algood police Chief position remains open until Monday, October 16th. Swallows said he has applied for the position and hopes he gets the chance to continue leading the police department.
