Algood Council Selects New City Recorder

Algood has a new city recorder.

The city council has appointed Utility Supervisor Ann Flatt to replace former city recorder Vaughn Larson.

Flatt has spent the past several months taking on a number of city recorder duties and said its prepared her for the job.

“I don’t know all that is involved in it, but I have taken on city court clerk, property taxes, and business license,” Flatt said. “Little by little I’m learning and I’m sure there is a lot more to be learned.”

City Accountant Marlin Francis was the only other person to express interest in the city recorder position. The council unanimously appointed Flatt to the position.
