The City of Algood has approved a $123,375 quote for the fire hall expansion site work.
The site work now brings the total project price to $634,925.
Once completed, the expansion will add three double bays along with new training space. City Administrator Keith Morrison said it will also allow Putnam County EMS to have a second bay to run a 24-hour ambulance service out of the current station.
“Having that 24-hour ambulance service here would be a huge benefit for the citizens,” Morrison said. “The 12-hour service alone has truly been remarkable. The answer call time is just fabulous.”
The total price for the project came in about $88,000 lower than the original bid for the project because the city conducted part of the site work to lower the cost.
