Putnam County Schools testing dates will not be effected after the ACT exam experienced a security breach nationwide.
In a written statement, Superintendent Jerry Boyd said Putnam County high school students are scheduled to take the test Oct. 16.
“We will continue to monitor communications from the Tennessee Department of Education for any additional details pertinent to the issue,” Boyd wrote. “The breach reported by ACT has been explicitly stated to only impact the October 2, 2018 testing date.”
ACT reported Friday the security breach effected several districts across the country, with Tennessee being impacted the most. Districts impacted by the breach will have their dates cancelled and rescheduled later in the month. Any tests administered before Oct. 16 will not be scored.
