Rain and traffic accidents made for a messy morning commute in Cookeville Wednesday.
The first accident took place about 5 a.m. on Highway 111 when a Chevy Equinox entered the northbound lanes traveling south. One person was flown to Vanderbilt for advanced treatment following that accident.
Cookeville Police Major Carl Sells said the department assisted the THP with that accident and also handled three more Wednesday morning. He encouraged drivers to take it slow in the rain.
