Senior Lifestyle’s facility in Cookeville will be sold nearly one month after a previous owner’s arrest.
Ed Butler – the current owner of Senior Lifestyles – said the facility will be sold to Absolute Care, LLC, adding that selling it was in his best interest.
“I think that’s the best thing for myself and my children right now to go ahead and relieve that burden,” Butler said. ” Right now, the facility currently has a little over three dozen people in it, and people are continued to be taken care of.”
Butler said in the meantime, some changes have been made within the facility.
“We’re still running it with the same management staff,” Butler said. “We’ve made some personnel changes in the process, but right now, we’re still currently operating.
Butler’s wife, Stephanie, was arrested last month after allegations of elder abuse within the facility. She was charged with two counts of property theft and one count of willful abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Both Ed and his wife co-owned the facility until she was arrested.
Butler said the amount the facility sold for will not be disclosed, but added the sale could be official within the next few weeks. Currently, the license for Senior Lifestyles is in Butler’s name following his wife’s arrest. The license will be transferred to the next owner once the sale is complete.
