New Drake’s Restaurant Coming To Cookeville Next Year

A new restaurant coming to Cookeville will bring more than 100 jobs to the community.

Drake’s a restaurant that serves burgers and sushi planned for the Shoppes at Eagle Point. The Kentucky-based company has 19 locations across Alabama, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Chief operating Officer Mark Thornburg said the plan is to open in July of next year.

“We love towns that are very vibrant and have a lot of growth, and Cookeville obviously fits that bill for us,” Thornburg said. “With Interstate 40 right there, we love interstate locations.”

Thornburg said the Cookeville restaurant will be the sixth in state. Thornburg said the location will follow a similar blueprint that includes a bar, several televisions and outdoor patio seating.

“We are currently in the bidding process for contractors to award a bid to start construction,” Thornburg said. “So, we will get that back in the middle of January and plan on starting construction right around the February time frame.”
